Accident

When employees have an accident, it is important to think of many things.
Information Relating to Accident Insurance for Employees of Canton Berne

Lab safety common incidents

The accident insurance of students matriculated at the University of Bern must be covered by their own health insurance (compulsory health insurance).
Voluntary non-paid personal and guests (guest students, school holiday jobbers, etc.) who intend to work in the laboratory must be pre-registered with the University administration.

This compulsory registration is the responsibility of the head of the organizational unit. The appropriate registration form can be obtained and filled out on Uni Intern (Dienstleistungen > Personal > Index A-Z > Unfallversicherung > Nicht besoldete Personen mit einmaliger Entschädigung – in German only).

…so it does not happen again.

Incident clarification

Accidents are just the tip of the iceberg. Statistically 17 near misses occur per accident. Report near misses to us so that we can take necessary safety measures before an accident will happen.
